Where should the next marketing spend go?

The ads agency says ads. The SEO agency says SEO. The market shows where your rivals rank, where they pay and where they are absent. An Intel loop puts reviews, paid search and search ranks for each player in your market on one page.

The problem

What owners say.

  • Should we do more Google Ads, or SEO, or social?
  • We tried Facebook ads once and it didn't work.
  • Our competitor is everywhere. Where should we start?
  • I've got a budget for next quarter and no idea where to put it.

Why it is hard

Why checking by hand fails.

Channel advice usually comes from the seller of the channel. What is missing is a neutral view of where your market is crowded and where it is thin.

That view takes several sources at once: who ranks for the terms buyers search, who pays for those terms, who has the reviews, who holds the map position across your area. Each source is cheap on its own and slow to combine by hand.

A gap a rival has left open is usually cheaper to fill than a channel it already owns. The market view puts those gaps on one page, rival by rival, channel by channel.

The limits. Competitor spend is a modelled range for paid search only. Without your own results, the market view shows the gaps, not which of your channels already pays. Reading your own ad accounts needs the own-ads audit, which is in build and not on sale. We sell no advertising and no SEO.

What we read

Each source, and the code that reads it.

Every source names the module in our code that reads it. A source marked in build does not run for customers yet.

  • Paid searchPaid-keyword presence and a modelled budget range per rival.src/lib/connectors/spyfu.ts

What you get

What you get back.

  • Where each rival is strong and where it is absent, channel by channel
  • The search terms rivals pay for and the ones they rank for without paying
  • The gaps rivals have left open
  • Once the own-ads audit ships: your own spend and results beside that market view
Today and in build

What runs today, and what is in build.

Live tools run now. Loops in build will answer it again on a cadence you choose. They are not on sale.

FAQ

Questions about “Which channel should we fund”

Will you tell me which channel to choose?

We show where the market is crowded and where it is thin, with the evidence for each. The choice depends on your budget and your own results, which we see only if you connect them.

Do you sell advertising or SEO services?

No. We read the market and report it, so the reading has no channel to favour.

How reliable are the competitor spend figures?

They are modelled by a third party, shown as a range with the basis, and cover paid search. Read them as a guide to scale, not an invoice.

Can I include my own results?

That is the job of the own-ads audit: read-only access to the accounts you connect. It is in build and not on sale yet.

Name the rivals you lose to.

The free report reads your site beside theirs, five buyer types on one rubric. No account and no card to start.
